We are Julie and Amanda – mother/daughter and friends for life
Many many years ago we had an idea to create a supportive space for friendship,  learning, growth and empowerment.  What began as a tiny sprinkling of passion many years ago has grown into Juma Health & Yoga.
JUMA combines the JU of Julie’s name and the MA of Amanda’s name (most people call her Manda) but this name does have another meaning…

We read a book called ‘Annapurna’, an inspiring book about a group of women trekking together in the Himalayas during the 70’s.  Each woman carried in their backpacks was a ‘Jumar’ clip – a device that was used to clip one woman onto the next as a way of supporting each another as they climbed Annapurna (ha! where we trekked!).  This powerful story stayed with us and has become part of our story.  We give great thanks for those women who paved the way.  This year (2023) we trekked part of the Annapurna trail in Nepal as part of a retreat and it was a truly amazing experience.
